Brief Description | The module aims to provide students with an understanding of the important features of the internal and external environments within which all organizations must operate. It examines those elements of the environment that impinge upon an organization’s ability to achieve its mission and satisfy its objectives, giving particular focus to organizational behavior, managerial work and the role of information and communication technologies in the context of business. |
Indicative Syllabus | The module will include the nature of organizational behavior and managerial work in the business environment. It will also look at individual differences such as personality, attitudes and perceptions, and the importance of motivation in understanding people. Apart from individual differences, the importance of groups and teams will also be studied. Research into organizational structure and culture, how organizations use ICTs in practice to support their aims and objectives and the implications associated with developing, implementing and using ICTs for this purpose, both on the organization itself and on individuals will be part of the program. |
