Brief Description | Students must present a detailed proposal to the course leader, including details of the topic, assessment, and material to be covered, in an area of Criminology that they wish to explore independently. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module allows the student with a particular interest not necessarily covered by the taught modules offered to devise a personal module in consultation with an appropriate expert tutor. There will be a clear week by week programme of study negotiated with the tutor during the first two weeks of the module. This may include literature searches, experiential learning or research project in an applied sphere, attendance at specific lectures or seminars across level III of the modular scheme or outside of the institution. It may be assessed in a variety of ways, including reports, examinations, oral presentations, portfolios or poster displays provided these are in keeping with the general guidance provided by the modular scheme. The field chair of Criminology will oversee this module and will monitor the appropriateness and level of proposed studies. Careful attention will be paid to possible overlap between work in this module and that undertaken in CRI333. |
