Brief Description | This module provides an opportunity for students initially to explore comparative economic/business approaches in different regions of the globe, and subsequently to engage in a detailed investigation of one selected region. |
Indicative Syllabus | This module will build on the understanding of the international business environment gained at level 4 and begin with an investigation of the key characteristics of European and emerging market private sector economic development. The opportunity will then be provided for students to undertake a detailed investigation of a regional business context, looking at such elements as trade and competition policies, FDI and industrial policies, political/financial risk and other factors in economic development. Finally, students will be encouraged to analyse the various challenges presented to the managerial values and practices of their chosen region by contemporary economic, technological and commercial developments. This module will incorporate an active pedagogical style requiring full attendance and active participation by students. |
