Twelve months work based learning

Indicative Syllabus

Twelve month period of work experience relevant to the student's field of study. Learning driven by practical experience in the work place. Progress and development assessed against an agreed framework of objectives.

Learning Outcomes

A student passing this module should be able to:

  1. Appreciate an organisation, its products and/or services and how it earns money and remains viable (PLO1, 4)
  2. Understand the inter-relationship between different business functions (PLO2, 4),
  3. Carry out company based tasks, of an appropriate level relevant to their studies, with minimal supervision (PLO4, 5),
  4. Better understand the sector they are working within and the external and internal influencers and constraints (PLO1, 2),
  5. Gain an appreciation of the range of professional skills appropriate to a specific employment sector (PLO1,5,6).
