Brief Description | This double module takes those skills in broadcast journalism developed at Level II and uses them as the basis for a full examination of the construction and delivery of live news bulletins, programmes and web pages. Working in shifts as members of news teams allocated with specific duties students will generate reactive and proactive material in the areas of radio, television and on-line throughout a week to demonstrate their professional abilities in news bulletin and programme production involving writing, reporting, presentation, editing and management |
Indicative Syllabus | The module will be production workshop based with students working in shifts to gather material for news bulletins and programmes for transmission in three formats to an agreed target audience. Students will be expected to demonstrate professional standard writing, editing and presentation skills. Designated a specific role a student will be expected to demonstrate an awareness of the importance of team-working and individual contributions make to the provision of news outlets and in the workplace High levels of organization, decision-making, editorial choices and news values will be required to achieve successful outcomes. Performance and content will be assessed on a daily basis by BJ staff and guest editors. |
