Indicative Syllabus | This module allows students to critically study an aspect of education which is of interest to them. Topics are likely to relate to educational policy, provision, practice, theory or the curriculum. |
Learning Outcomes | Knowledge and Understanding: In their independent study students will demonstrate a secure knowledge and understanding of the topic identified in their study Skills: The independent study will require students to demonstrate the skills of: 1) Organisation: time management, planning, gathering and structuring information 2) Learning independently: library and information skills, the collection and evaluation of data 3) Writing: planning, drafting, editing and revising, literature review 4) Evaluation: evaluation of source materials, critical analysis, justifying their own critical stance |
