Brief Description This module is designed to enable students to explore the Control and Modelling strand in ICT
Indicative Syllabus You will explore the relevant QCA Units of work in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Each Unit will be explored in terms of planning appropriate activities for the pupils and identifying appropriate hardware and software that can be used in the workplace. In addition students will explore one unit in detail and plan and teach the unit in a local school with a group of pupils. Equal opportunities (including SEN, EAL, Cultural Diversity, and Gender) will also be addressed.
Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding
1)  Develop their awareness of the organisational issues associated with ICT and are able to manage the physical teaching space
2)  Use ICT to access current research and developments in teaching and learning related to ICT
3)  Understand the nature of ICT as a powerful tool for learning effectively across all subjects
4)  Develop an understanding of the role ICT plays in the economic prosperity of the country – specifically Control and Modelling



Skills

1)  Make informed links between ICT and other subjects;
2)  Develop their personal ICT skills, specifically in Control and Modelling
